Today marks the beginning of National Savings Week in Rwanda, running from October 23rd to 31st, 2024 under the theme: “Save, Invest, Prosper”. This initiative, headed by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) in collaboration with the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda (AMIR), aims to promote a culture of saving among Rwandans and highlight the importance of financial literacy for social and economic development.
Savings Week in the Kivuruga sector of Gakenke district
This year, Kirehe District has been selected as the host for the Big Day celebration, which will take place on October 26th, 2024. The theme for this year’s campaign, “Save, Invest, Prosper” encourages individuals and communities to embrace saving as a pathway to financial stability and growth. The event will feature a variety of activities designed to engage the community, including open days at local microfinance institutions (MFIs) and interactive sessions aimed at educating participants about the benefits of saving and investing.
