AMIR organized a CEO retreat held in Rubavu district at Western Mountain Hotel from 7th to 9th Feb 2024. This retreat was attended by 28 delegates and the participants were composed of CEOs of Microfinance institutions, Managers of Non-Umurenge SACCOs, and Representatives of Managers of Umurenge SACCOs at the provincial level, RICEM, and DSIK.
The retreat’s objective was to examine and propose solutions to different challenges affecting the microfinance sector and discussions on various interventions of AMIR.
AMIR’s Executive Director presented key interventions in the sector and updated the meeting on advocacy issues. RICEM presented on the CMP program, while DSIK presented an overview of the DSIK and its interventions such as USACCOs professionalization, and consolidation of 5 Non-USACCOs in Rulindo district.
The participants analyzed different issues, the root cause of the issues, the effects and risks of the issues, and needed actions to solve the issue as well as the key recommendations were taken.
