Mr. Gatera Damien is a professional Economist and Banker. He holds a degree in Applied Economics.

Having pursued a banking career from 1987 to 2013, he progressively climbed the ranks from department head to director. He worked at the Nouvelle Banque de Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo and at the Banque Commerciale du Rwanda.

From January 1995 to July 2013, he successively supervised the Foreign Exchange Department, the Non-Banking Product Development Department, the Commercial Operations Department, the Branch Department, and finally the Operations Department at the Banque Commerciale du Rwanda, which later became IM Bank Rwanda Pic.

After leaving the bank for early retirement by mutual agreement with the employer, Mr. GATERA worked on his personal projects as a consultant in banking services and income-generating project design.

In 2015, upon the initiative of the Board of Directors of RIM – Réseau Interdiocésain de Microfinance, Mr. GATERA NSANZIMFURA Damien assumed the position of CEO of this institution, where he has been serving since then.
